VP of Technical Operations

We are seeking a leader who possesses a high level of technical acumen, bias for action, and the ability to inspire, lead, and grow a global professional services team. The VP of Technical Operations will manage the day-to-day operations of Six Nines’ Consulting Services organization and establish scalable processes and services. This key leadership position will be based Oakland/SF, Chicago, or Austin, TX.

In the role of VP of Technical Operations your responsibilities and duties are as follows:

  • Directly manage all technical resources and project managers
    • Provide day to day direction, and management for the delivery of professional services projects
    • Develop methods and procedures for increasing operational efficiencies company-wide
    • Enforce company policy, guidelines and procedures
    • Drive high levels of customer satisfaction across all facets of Six Nines’ services
  • Refine and optimize CloudCIOTM technical capabilities through automation, repeatable delivery methods
  • Develop security, routine maintenance,and other repeatable enhancements and features for CloudCIOTM & Automated MSPTM
  • Focus on increasing profit margins of technical delivery projects
    • Develop, implement and enforce standard operating procedures
    • Develop/Automate per project profitability reports
    • Develop/Automate per customer profitability reports
    • Develop/Automate utilization reports for department
    • Develop/Automate meta-data reporting capabilities for project delivery trends
  • Assume responsibility of managing Internal products/solutions
  • Provide visibility, work with, and support Sales, Finance, Marketing, Business Development
  • Develop repeatable procedures for technical delivery of company’s core services
  • Develop personnel and take responsibility for hiring and developing direct reports
  • Communicate clear success criteria for projects and employees
  • Responsible for creating, tracking, and reporting yearly budgets of core revenue generating lines of business
  • Provide feedback to Managing Director & CEO for budgeting other business departments and future endeavors
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers, partners, and vendors
  • Integrate at all levels of the organization
  • Provide support to all employees of the organization, and our customers as needed
  • Participate in higher-level sales activities, including international travel, or urgent needs
  • Participate in user conferences, including active participation at sponsored booths
  • Develop and support the company’s goal and purpose that will continue to enhance the company’s performance.

  • Travel Requirements: Up to 30% travel, depending on the needs of the organization

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Technical Operations related experience with at least 3 years as a Cloud Operations Management
  • Proven technical expertise and leadership experience in driving Cloud Operations standards and procedures; significant expertise on the AWS ecosystem of services and products.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills; ability to decompose complex problems, prioritize issues, and implement sensible solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to speak and write clearly and accurately,                     particularly as it relates to technical concepts.
  • Experience and comfort communicating professionally via presentations, phone, well-crafted emails, meetings, and customized materials.
  • Proficient experience managing customer escalations, crisis management, and other similar circumstances.
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb new concepts, facilitate discussions, and lead fellow team members and guide other departments in a technology environment.
